Disruptive Entrepreneurship Headlines TiEcon 2015

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For the twenty-second year, Silicon Valley will once again host TiEcon 2015, the world's largest conference on entrepreneurship, convening here on May 15 and 16. Some 500 technology startups and those who support, acquire or partner with them are expected to converge on the Santa Clara Convention Center for a jam-packed program of networking, knowledge brokering and deal making.

The annual "mix-up, match-up and meet-up" of 4,000-plus innovators and engineers from 20-plus countries has become the place to be for those who want to "break-in, break out or break-away" in a rapidly transforming technology sector that includes heavyweight incumbents and disruptive new contenders.  Big topics for conversation and presentation include the Internet of Things (IoT), Data Economy, Cloud infrastructure and security, on-line learning, healthcare, and youth development.

Previous CEO headline presenters at TiEcon have included Elon Musk of Tesla, Larry Page of Google, Meg Whitman of HP, Marissa Mayer of Yahoo!, Satya Nadella of Microsoft, Larry Ellison of Oracle, Jeff Weiner of LinkedIn, and Steve Mollenkopf of Qualcomm, In addition to stellar speakers, TiEcon 2015 will include more than 100 conference sessions, 120 exhibitors, and forums for technology upstarts seeking funding, recognition, customers and partners.

"TiEcon is where the world's weath connects with technology entrepreneurs to create an enervating environment for start-ups to take off," notes Venktesh Shukla, president of TiE, Silicon Valley. "It is the "Burning Man" of entrepreneurship, and brings together Silicon Valley's diverse, dynamic, and expert ecosystem to ignite disruptive technology innovation."

Headlining this year's TiEcon are founders and dynamic leaders of companies like Sandisk, TIBCO, Softek, Evernote, Fire Eye, MediaTek, and Tesla. All have demonstrated rapid growth and disruptive entrepreneurship.  New research from Dow Jones VentureSource has focused global attention on 73 "hot tech startups" that are valued at $1 billion or more by venture capital firms. With 24 of these based in the San Francisco Bay Area, expect many aspiring entrepreneurs from these organizations to be mixing and mingling at TiEcon.
