Disabled Veterans National Foundation Honored by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Washington State for "Tireless and Extraordinary Service" to American Veterans
WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)--
The Disabled
Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) has been awarded a
Certificate of Appreciation by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of the State of
Washington, applauding the 4-year-old agency for "Tireless and
Extraordinary Service" to the veterans of the U.S. military.
"We are honored to receive an award from such an exemplary
organization," said Raegen Rivers, Chief Administrative Officer of DVNF.
"The members of the VFW
Ladies Auxiliary live by the motto, 'Honr the dead by helping the
living,' and that is also the mission of the DVNF. They are an
inspiration and mentor to everyone in our organization, whose sole
purpose is to give our veterans all the resources and support they
need to succeed when they return home from selflessly serving our
country."
The Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars was started in 1914
to assist veterans returning from battle and assimilating into civilian
life. Following the auxiliary's lead in its commitment to improve the
lives of veterans, the Disabled Veterans National Foundation was created
to help men and women who were disabled by their military service to our
country. The DVNF provides programs and works with like-minded
organizations, such as the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, to meet the practical,
health and emotional needs of disabled veterans and underserved veteran
groups, including women who served our country, homeless veterans, and
those who suffer from invisible wounds such as brain injuries and PTSD.
About Disabled Veterans National Foundation: DVNF exists to
change the lives of men and women who came home wounded or sick after
defending our safety and freedom. A non-profit 501(c)(3), DVNF was
founded in the fall of 2007 by six women veterans to expand their scope
of work within the veteran's community. For more information, visit www.dvnf.org.
