Digital Music Unplugged: Logitech Delivers Wireless Headphones for PC; Logitech Music Anywhere Wireless Technology Provides Easy Setup, High-Quality Wireless Audio Performance
FREMONT, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Aug. 23, 2005 -- Logitech (SWX:LOGN) (NASDAQ:LOGI) today introduced the Logitech(R) Wireless Headphones for PC, giving people the freedom to unleash themselves from their PC as they listen to their digital music collection, Internet radio, or subscription music services.
Setup is simple. The Logitech Wireless Headphones for PC come with everything people need to wirelessly stream music in minutes: a small transmitter that connects to the USB port on a computer, and the headphones, which include an integrated wireless receiver. With a range of up to 50 meters (165 feet), it allows people to experience digital music from virtually anywhere around the home.
"The Wireless Headphones for PC eliminate the nuisance of cords, giving people the freedom to comfortably move around in front of the computer, or even walk into the other room, while still listening to music or any number of audio applications on the PC," said Ray Weikel, director of product marketing for Logitech's Audio Business Unit. "The simplicity of the system and the quality of the audio are unmatched. Without the cords to tie them down, people will forget they're wearing the headphones."
The Logitech Wireless Headphones for PC take advantage of the simplicity offered by the architecture of the Logitech(R) Music Anywhere(TM) wireless technology. The transmitter and receiver are paired at manufacturing, ensuring they will instantly connect when plugged in. The proprietary technology provides crystal-clear digital audio quality and features adaptive frequency hopping, helping the product overcome any potential wireless interference. The USB-based PC transmitter can stream any format of audio, including Internet radio, directly to the receiver.
With a lightweight, behind-the-head design, the Logitech Wireless Headphones for PC provide a secure and comfortable fit. The headphones' 40 mm full-range neodymium drivers provide rich stereo audio with enhanced bass performance. With the included software, the headphones' integrated controls, located on the right earpiece, enable people to adjust the volume, as well as play, pause and skip tracks forward and back in today's most popular media players, including Windows(R) Media Player, Musicmatch(R), WinAmp(R), iTunes(R), and RealPlayer(R).
Logitech Music Anywhere Wireless Technology
The Logitech Wireless Headphones for PC are just one of Logitech's new products featuring Logitech Music Anywhere wireless technology. Today, the company also announced the Logitech(R) Wireless Music System for PC, an easy-to-use product for people to wirelessly connect their PC to their stereo system, and the Logitech(R) Wireless Music System for iPod(R), enabling people to wirelessly connect their iPod or MP3 player to their stereo system. The company also sells the Logitech(R) Wireless Headphones for iPod(R) and the Logitech(R) Wireless Headphones for MP3, giving owners the ability to listen to their portable music players with no strings attached. Logitech's Music Anywhere technology is designed to provide digital music enthusiasts the freedom to enjoy their music listening experience in more places and in more ways, without any setup hassles or headaches.
