DC Area Support Needed for Warriors, Veterans and Families Struggling with Sadness and Loss This Valentine's Day

WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)--

Holidays like Valentine's Day should be a joyous celebration for our returning warriors and their families, but for many who have come home to broken families or relationships it is a time of anxiety, depression and thoughts of suicide. NOT ALONE (www.notalone.com), a 501c3 non-profit that recently launched its free, confidential and anonymous community support in the Washington, DC region, is seeking donations and volunteers to support U.S. warriors, veterans and their families during Valentine's Day and beyond-- please visit http://www.notalone.com today to donate or see how you can volunteer. It is also important to seek out professional help if you, or a loved one, are experiencing any of these signs for concern:

  • Increasing alcohol or drug use
  • Acting recklessly or engaging in risky behavior
  • Experiencing excessive rage, anger or desire for revenge
  • Having feelings of anxiety, agitation or hopelessness
  • Reliving past experiences
  • Experiencing dramatic changes in mood
  • Feeling trapped, like there is no way out.

NOT ALONE is a national not-for-profit organization offering information and a range of support services dedicated to empowering returning warriors and their loved ones who face the challenges of life after war.
