Dayton Power & Light Company Foundation Awards 55 Grants Totaling $1.2 Million to Local Organizations


The Dayton Power and Light Company Foundation Board has approved 55 grants totaling $1.2 million and is awarding its Signature Grants to local Miami Valley organizations.

The grants approved by the DP&L Foundation Board will help fund a number of programs for Miami Valley organizations, including: the Air Force Museum Foundation; Aullwood; Big Brothers Big Sisters (Miami Valley, Mercer/Auglaize and Shelby/Darke Counties); Cox (News - Alert) Arboretum Foundation; Daybreak; Dayton Art Institute; Dayton Contemporary Dance Company; East End Community Services; The Foodbank; Habitat for Humanity (Greater Dayton and Preble County); St. Vincent De Paul Services, United Way of Greater Dayton and YWCA of Dayton.

"The DP&L Foundation makes significant contributions to programs that make a difference in communities DP&L serves," said DP&L President and CEO Derek A. Porter. "Our commitment to the Miami Valley is visible in these grants, which continue to enhance he quality of life for our customers."



The 2014 grants include six Signature Grants, a program the DP&L Foundation initiated last year to support new or innovative initiatives by our community partners. The Signature Grants, including one $100,000 grant, will be announced in January 2015.

Since its founding in 1985, the Dayton Power and Light Company Foundation has awarded in excess of $33 million in grants.
