David Reid Joins Motiga as Senior Vice President, PublishingBELLEVUE, Wash. --(Business Wire)-- Motiga, the independent online game studio behind Gigantic, today announced David Reid has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Publishing. The move signifies the company's commitment to build world-class publishing infrastructure for Gigantic. Motiga has been stealthily working on Gigantic - a free-to-play PC action game - for two years, and after a successful showing at PAX Prime, has officially brought the game into public alpha testing. Reid joins Motiga's executive team alongside CEO and Co-Founder Chris Chung, CTO and Co-Founder Rick Lambright, and VP Product Development James Phinney. Reid brings over a decade of online games publishing and marketing experience to Motiga. Before joining Motiga, Reid served as Chief Marketing Officer at CCP Games, where he led EVE Online to surpass 500,000 global subscribers in its 10th year. Prior to CCP, Reid was SVP Publishing at Trion Worlds, where he led the record-breaking launch of RIFT. Reid has also held senior positions at NCsoft, GameTap/Turner Broadcasting (News - Alert), and Xbox. Gigantic is a free-to-play PC action game where heroes battle alongside a massive guardian in a fight for supremacy. The genre-bending online game, which will be released in 2015 on PC, brings a combination of teamwork, action and strategy to a vibrant fantasy world. In Gigantic, five players charge across a fantasy battleground alongside their guardian, a five-story-tall monster they've sworn to protect. Players start by choosing from a roster of unique heroes that fit their gameplay style, then aim, dodge and leap across the map until they defeat the enemy guardian. Every battle in Gigantic lets players earn rewards, unlock new heroes and fine-tune the gameplay to fit their style.
