Dafina Toncheva Promoted to General Partner at U.S. Venture Partners

U.S. Venture Partners, a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm, announced today the promotion of Dafina Toncheva to General Partner.

Dafina joined USVP in November 2012 after several years in high-technology operating roles and experience at other notable venture capital firms. Dafina invests in emerging technologies in the enterprise space with focus on Enterprise SaaS (News - Alert) applications and Cybersecurity. Her track record includes leading the first institutional round of investment in companies such as Cloudflare (NYSE: NET), Kenna Security, Matrixx Software (News - Alert) and Prevoty (acquired by Imperva). She is currently on the board of Inside Sales, Raken, Percepto, Luma Health and Arkose Labs.

Entrepreneurs choose to work with Dafina because of her ability to share their vision and passion for the business, her commitment to their success and her strong work ethic.

"Dafina was the first venture capitalist to discover Cloudflare and believe in the opportunity we had ahead of us. She has continued to be an advisor and mentor to me over the years. I was proud to have her standing with us on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange when Cloudflare went public - almost exactly 10 years after we first met," said Matthew Prince, Co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare.

Before becoming an investor, Dafina held positions in software development and product management at Microsoft (News - Alert), here she focused on authentication systems, digital signatures and business workflows. She worked on MSN Live ID and MS Office, and co-authored several key patents.

In her new role, Dafina will continue her focus on identifying and investing in early stage high potential SaaS and Cybersecurity companies.

"Dafina is a valuable member of the USVP team. She is a talented contributor to our success and possesses a combination of deep technical background, business acumen and venture investment experience," said Casey Tansey, USVP General Partner. "The promotion of Dafina to General Partner recognizes her outstanding investment results and our confidence and expectations of her future contributions," added Rick Lewis, USVP General Partner.

Dafina received an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in Computer Science from Harvard University.
