D-Link SECURESPOT services available in 802.11n routers
(Worldwide Computer Products News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
D-Link, a designer, developer and manufacturer of networking, broadband
and digital electronics, announced on 20 October that its SECURESPOT
2.0 Professional Strength Internet Security and Parental Control
Services are now available in three of its 802.11n home routers and its
DSD-150 Internet Security Adapter.
The company is offering its advanced whole-home Internet security
service integrated with its DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit, DIR-625
RangeBooster N and DIR-628 RangeBooster N Dual Band Routers and the
DSD-150. Integration of Internet security and parental controls into
the routers will reduce the load on the PC and offer protection to the
whole home network, according to D-Link.
SECRURESPOT offers a graphical web-based console with managed back-end
services and can discover and protect new devices as the network grows
including guest computers, media centres, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo
Wii, Sony PSP, PS3, iPod Touch and other browser-enabled networked
devices. It also provides remote management capabilities to allow
anytime/anywhere access to monitor or configure all services.
SECURESPOT 2.0 is available with two packages: Family Protection,
including parental controls for an unlimited number of devices, for
USD30 per year and Total protection, including endpoint security for
three PCs, for USD60 annually with a "pay as you grow" model that
licenses additional PCs at USD20 each. The SECURESPOT 2.0 service is
available with the DIR-655 (MSRP: USD149.99), the DIR-625 (MSRP:
USD119.99), the DIR-628 (MSRP: USD119.99) and the DSD-150 (MSRP:
USD89.99).
