CyberINK Launches Skeleton-themed iPhone 5 Skins

CHICAGO, Dec. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- The gadget of the year iPhone 5 can now sport quirky Skeleton-themed smartphone skins thanks to a woman-owned, admittedly geeky business just outside of Chicago.

(Photo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20121213/CG28966) The wrap-around skins with optional, downloadable wallpaper come in two designs for the iPhone 5 and two for iPad versions 2 & 3.

"Our younger customers asked for something more techy than our more traditional mugs and mouse pads," said CyberINK owner Jean Latz Griffin. "The designs for the skins were determined through a contest on our http://skeletons3among3us.com blog. We tweeted about the contest through our 3.2 million-year-old Lucy_of_Hadar skeleton personality and had a great deal of fun with the promotion." Winners of that contest were skeletons listening to earphones and skateboarding for the phone, and swimming and taking a bubble bath for the tablet.

Earphone Eddie's skull shakes to the music and Skateboarder Sam hovers high above the board on their phones. Bathtub Billy relaxes with floating iridescent bubbles and Swimmer Sarah executes a mean crawl stroke, boney feet kicking.

The skins cover the front, back and sides of the gadgets and downloadable wallpaper continues the design on the screens. CyberINK will add skins for other types of smartphones and tablets as well as sleeves for laptops in 2013.

The company's other products include posters that come in eight designs, mugs in two, eco-friendly water bottles in two and mouse pads in one. The unique images show skeletons in everyday activities. A stunning winter scene shows skeletons strolling home from work with briefcases, holding hands and walking a dog. An office scene shows skeletons at a meeting with briefcases and laptops at the ready.

A skull showing the folds of a brain appears on both a mug and a poster. The bones of a woman's foot can be seen through a red high heel shoe. Others include a family of skeletons, skeletons taking a bubble bath, drying hair, skateboarding or riding a bicycle.

Also an independent publisher since 2005, the company has published two non-fiction titles, In the Same Breath and One Spirit: A Creation Story for the 21st Century, and a DVD based on One Spirit, favorably reviewed. Notecards based on One Spirit deal with themes of diversity and unity. A novel of historical fiction with magical realism is in the works.

The products are sold on http://cyberinkonline.com and in museums and bookstores throughout the country.
