Customer confusion beats economic climate as biggest hurdle for VC industry; The 2014 Business Breakthrough Event gives businesses vital advice on the use of video conferencing and how to unleash its full potential to meet customer demand

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Recent research* has revealed that the poor economic climate is no longer the biggest external challenge facing the video conferencing industry, with customer confusion now being the greatest concern. 58% of channel partners surveyed believe customers are baffled by the many options available to them such as videoconferencing, web conferencing with integrated video, and unified communications.

With the inaugural Business Breakthrough Event taking place next month in London, the hosts, global market research company Wainhouse Research and unified communications specialist Imago Group, believe this is the opportunity for the industry to provide the much needed clarification on the services available.

"Deploying a new video communication service throughout an organisation involves significant investment in time and money, thereby making the decision of which service to go for incredibly important. While it is positive that channel partners have recognised that businesses are confused about the wide range on offer, they must now take responsibility and act immediately to solve the problem. Here is the opportunity for channel partners to become trusted advisors and to grow their business long term", comments Wayne Mason, event director and head of group products and marketing at Imago Group.

The conferencing and collaboration event, which will be attended by vendors, channel partners and the media, will provide business professionals responsible for their company's communication tools, with hands-on exposure to the latest solutions in video conferencing and unified communications. They will also have the chance to meet some of the world's leading technology suppliers and industry experts.

Additionally, the event will feature presentations from key vendors such as PGI and Biamp, Simon Parker of Hibu and end users including Thomson Reuters and Neopost.

"The Business Breakthrough Event aims to bring a wealth of experts together in one place, making it the ideal environment for those working in the channel to learn more about unified communications and gain a better understanding of how video conferencing can benefit their business." Mason continues.

The event will take place on Thursday 29 May at The Brewery, London, with a sister event taking place in Paris on 3 June.
