CSB/SJU names entrepreneurship director [St. Cloud Times, Minn. :: ]


(St. Cloud Times (MN) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) July 22--Pat Maxwell is the new director of the Donald McNeely Center for Entrepreneurship at the College of St. Benedict and St. John's University. The college announced the appointment Tuesday.



Maxewll succeeds founding director Terri Barreiro, who retired after 10 years.

Maxwell earned a philosophy degree from St. John's in 1966 and a doctorate in law from Northwestern University School of Law. He has 40-plus years of experience as an entrepreneur, executive and turnaround management specialist in the private and nonprofit sectors.


He has worked as a board chairman, director, CEO, CFO, vice president and general counsel. Throughout the U.S., Europe and the Pacific Rim, he started, bought or led 20 businesses and nonprofits, working in manufacturing, insurance, personnel placement, education, business services, food, medical, legal, membership and charitable services.

Maxwell has served on St. John's board of regents and its national alumni board. He now serves on the Board of Overseers of the St. John's School of Theology-Seminary.

Founded in 2004 by St. Paul business and civic leader Donald McNeely, the center offers classes, coaching and assistance. Its mission is to create social value and economic opportunity by building alliances.
