AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Crossroads Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRDS) today announced new StrongBox features specifically designed for the media and entertainment industry.  In conjunction with its partner, Marquis Broadcast, Crossroads will unveil the new capabilities September 11-15 during IBC 2015 in booth 2.A58.

StrongBox is a storage gateway that simplifies data management and provides the most cost-effective archive for media projects. The system supports up to 256 unique workflows while addressing all online, nearline and archive storage needs. By fusing high-performance storage with cost-effective LTFS tape, disk and cloud, StrongBox delivers speed and agility with the economics to fit a budget in one simple and massively scalable solution.

During IBC 2015, Crossroads will highlight StrongBox's new Partial File Restore feature that allows segments of specific media files to be quickly restored and utilized from many hours of footage. By retrieving timecode-based segments, production teams can now avoid moving whole files to find individual shots, thus minimizing the use of storage resources and speeding up the production process. It allows media professionals to access only the clip they need and avoid the hassle of sifting through hours of content on disk, tape or in the cloud.

"We see many broadcast and media customers who need to accelerate their workflows," said David Cerf, executive vice president of strategy and business development at Crossroads Systems. "Partial file restore improves file access speed while keeping content easily available in the StrongBox archive. Crossroads continuously innovates so that our customers can take full advantage of the power of StrongBox."
