CREDANT introduces CREDANT Protector endpoint data leakage prevention solution

Jan 08, 2009 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) --
CREDANT Technologies, a mobile data protection solutions provider,
announced on Wednesday (7 January) the launch of CREDANT Protector, its
endpoint data leakage prevention solution that offers government
agencies device and wireless port control, as well as optical media
(CD/DVD) encryption capabilities.
According to the company, the solution provides the functionality to
disable AutoRun/AutoPlay features for removable media, suggested by the
recent US Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) activity notice,
Malicious Code Spreading Through USBFlash Drive Devices.
CREDANT Protector also includes the following features: granular
control, enabling the detection and restriction of data transfers by
device, device type, or serial number; data awareness, as it inspects
files by type and allows, blocks or restricts the transfer of files to
and from external storage devices; a management console that provides

unified management of policies, alerting preferences, logs and custom
reports; flexible policy management; built-in compliance policies; as
well as anti-hardware keylogger, which blocks both USB and PS/2
hardware keyloggers.
In addition, the solution, powered by Safend, includes management
features, such as file shadowing, load balancing and management by
domain, as well as options for large, matrixed government agencies to
manage the entire deployment through a single server, the company said.
No pricing details were disclosed.
