Courion's Annual Customer Conference Reinforces Need for Alignment Between Identity Management and Business Accountability

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- Courion(R) Corporation, the provisioning experts for results-driven operations, today announced highlights of its fifth annual customer conference, CONVERGE 07. Held in Lansdowne, Virginia, this year's event attracted customers from around the globe, with the highest concentration of attendees representing the healthcare industry, followed by financial services, government, insurance, banking and manufacturing. The industry's only provisioning focused event, CONVERGE 07 featured customer testimonials from more than 25 customer companies detailing milestones and business results achieved by leveraging the Courion Enterprise Provisioning Suite(TM) solution.

CONVERGE 07 featured business strategy and technical sessions that focused on "what's next" in the identity management space, including discussions on the impact of virtualization and collaborative environments on policy enforcement and compliance. In response to customer demand, Courion expanded its Healthcare-specific content with topics including provisioning for patients and non-employee populations; credential management strategies; and identity management integration strategies for clinical applications. Several customers presented case studies detailing results of their partnerships with Courion. For example, one customer discussed how it automated 2,000 account creation requests a week. Another customer automated user provisioning and improved new hire access from two weeks to two hours or less.

Additional conference panels and sessions were headlined by well known industry influencers, including Network World's Dave Kearns and Digital ID World's Phil Becker, as well as customers at all stages and levels of identity management maturity and implementation. CONVERGE 07 attracted a record number of technology partners and resellers that demonstrated solutions highlighting Courion's provisioning reach to physical assets, the importance of combining enterprise single sign-on (ESSO) with self-service password reset (SSPR), and role management. Partners sponsoring this year's event included Citrix Systems; Cyber-Ark; Encentuate; RSA, The Security Division of EMC; Diaphonics, HealthCast, Imprivata, and Radiant Logic, Inc.

"The continued success of CONVERGE reflects increasing demand for Courion's provisioning and access compliance solutions, and reinforces that Courion has the industry's most successful customers who are able to deliver measurable results back to their business operations every day," said Courion CEO Chris Zannetos. "The conference also provides customers with an opportunity to share and learn strategies for aligning identity and access management technology with business value and accountability."

CONVERGE 07 launched with an exclusive half-day Executive Forum for senior executives from Courion customers. The forum focused on three key areas: Access Compliance Maturity; Enabling a Business View of IT; and The Provisioning Crystal Ball. This peer forum provided executives with a unique opportunity to share their views on key business trends and challenges, and discuss their perspectives on how to prepare for changing business and compliance policy requirements, increasing security threats, and how to encourage accountability and integration across IT departments and lines of business.

Courion also conducted an interactive polling survey throughout the event reflecting current attendee attitudes around justifying provisioning investments; expected benefits from role management solutions; primary access control concerns for non-employees; and most significant technology barriers to getting started with provisioning. Courion will be releasing detailed results of the survey within the coming weeks.
