Constellation Brands Joins Napa Valley Vintners in Disaster Relief Efforts

(Thomson Reuters ONE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) VICTOR, N.Y., August 29, 2014 - Constellation Brands announced today that it will make a $100,000 donation to the Napa Valley Vintners' (NVV) Community Disaster Relief Fund to provide immediate support to the local community.

Funding will be available for one-time immediate needs as well as short term assistance for temporary housing and basic needs such as food, water, and medical care.

"Our company has a longstanding tradition of giving back in the communities where we live and work, and while we are grateful that our Constellation facilities and families experienced only minor damage during the earthquake, many of our neighbors were not as fortunate," said Rob Sands, president and chief executive officer, Constellation Brands.  "As members of the community and Napa Valley Vintners, we are proud to join in leading the relief effort and hope to assist those hit hardest by this natural disaster." In addition, Constellation is encouraging employees, visitors and wine club members to donate non-perishable goods at the wineries.  These items will be collected and donated to the local Napa food banks now through the end of September. Constellation employees will also be encouraged to support the recovery efforts and help match the company's donation.

Greg Fowler, senior vice president, operations for Constellation's wine and spirits division lives in the Napa area. "I have seen the devastation first hand," said Fowler, "but this is a resilient and collaborative community, and with the help and generosity of organizations such as NVV and Constellation the area will soon be thriving once again." "We are on a very long road to recovery, but through this Fund and with the help of dedicated partners such as Constellation, we aim to help families and businesses get back on their feet quickly," said Linda Reiff, president and chief executive officer, Napa Valley Vintners.
