Congo Democratic Republic of : VODACOM prepares to expand network coverage to Central DRC [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Wireless carrier Vodacom is gearing up to expand its network coverage to the central parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where it will soon install over 61 antennas in the remote areas of the Western Kasai and diamond-rich Eastern Kasai.

Both the Kasai provinces account for a population of about 15 million people.

The carrier presently covers 10 and 20 remote areas of the two provinces.

The project is designed to enhance the lives of the locals by providing them with the chance to enjoy products and services available on the Vodacom network.

And it is not just any ordinary infrastructure that the carrier will develop in these areas, the antennas come from a new generation of telecommunication technology exclusive to Vodacom Congo.

The operator said that the antennas are specially designed to adapt to rural areas which are hard to access.

The project is also part of Vodacom's long term plans to see almost all most remote areas of this vast, ill-equipped Central African country completely covered by its network.
