Comcast offers refunds for ice-storm outages

(Telegraph, The (Nashua, NH) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Jan. 3--Comcast customers who lost television, Internet or phone service during last month's ice storm could be entitled to a reduction in their bills.

Comcast, which provides cable, Internet and phone service, is working with customers to determine whether they qualify for a reduction in their bills, said company spokesman Jim Hughes.

Hughes said the company does not have any numbers on how many customers lost service as a result of the ice storm, or whether any customers are still without service.

Hughes said customers who have questions about their service or their bills should call the customer helpline at 1-800-266-2278.

Questions have arisen about electric company bills over the period covered by the outage. However, PSNH and other utilities charge customers based on total usage rather than based on set periods of time, as cable firms do.
