Comcast Cable Announces Executive Vice President and Senior Vice President Promotions
Today, Comcast (News - Alert) Cable announced several promotions in its Customer
Experience, Consumer Services Group, Technology and Product, Enterprise
and Platform Services, Government Affairs, Sales and Marketing, and
Legal departments. The following executives have been promoted in their
respective roles:
Customer Experience

Charlie Herrin has been promoted to Executive Vice President of
Customer Experience. In this role, Charlie serves as a customer
advocate, partnering with leaders across all business units to
reimagine the customer experience and ensure that customers are at the
center of every business decision. A veteran of Comcast for more than
15 years, Charlie most recently led the design team behind the X1
Platform and was the driving force behind the Company's initiative to
deliver a consistent user experience across platforms. Charlie
graduated with honors in Economics from the University of Washington.
Consumer Services Group

Matthew Strauss has been promoted to Executive Vice President
and General Manager, Video Services. In this role, he is responsible
for all aspects of the video business, including the delivery of
highly integrated entertainment experiences across devices. Under his
direction, Matt's team is responsible for the ongoing rollout of X1
and driving advancements in the TV Everywhere experience. Matt's
tenure with Comcast spans more than 10 years. In his previous role, he
led Comcast's multiplatform video strategy and oversaw growth in
transactional and online video revenue. Before that, he led Comcast
Interactive Media (CIM), the division responsible for the company's
online and multiplatform entertainment and media businesses. He holds
a B.S. from New York University's Stern School of Business.

Daniel Herscovici has been promoted to Senior Vice President
and General Manager, Xfinity Home. In this role, he is responsible for
all aspects of the Xfinity Home business, a cloud and broadband-based
platform providing next-generation home security, home automation and
the foundation for a 'smart home.' The Xfinity Home platform and
services will enable Comcast to deliver on the promise of connected
devices, connected home and the Internet of Everything. Dan earned a
B.S. in mechanical engineering from Boston University, a M.S. in
mechanical and manufacturing engineering from Drexel University, and a
M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Technology and Product

Jan Hofmeyr has been promoted to Senior Vice President, X1
Platform. He leads the team in delivering the next generation video
platform, X1. His notable achievements include making this
breakthrough product available across the entire Comcast service area.
He received a B.S. in Indutrial Electronic Engineering from
Stellenbosch University.

Bridget Kimball has been promoted to Senior Vice President,
Software Development & Engineering. In this role, Bridget will
continue to lead the Combined Conditional Access Development
(CCAD) organization, which is the Comcast joint venture with ARRIS
that focuses on conditional access systems and security development.
Bridget received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from California
State Polytechnic University and carries a M.S. in the same field from
the University of Southern California. She was also a member of the
Executive Program for Scientists and Engineers at University of
California, San Diego.

Rick Rioboli has been promoted to Senior Vice President,
Comcast Metadata Products and Search Services (CoMPASS). Rick leads
the CoMPASS team, which is responsible for the cloud-based platform
that powers Comcast's video applications with content metadata,
customer information, and content discovery services. Rick holds a
B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University, and a M.S.
in Computer Engineering from Villanova University.
Engineering and Platform Services

Sherita T. Ceasar has been promoted to Senior Vice President,
National Video Deployment Engineering. In this role, she is
responsible for the overall vision, direction, and management of all
national video deployment projects including new build infrastructure
projects, software and hardware platform upgrades, technical launch
validation, infrastructure capacity needs and decommissioning of
end-of-life video equipment. Sherita earned both a B.S. and a M.S. in
Mechanical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Government Affairs

Michael Brady has been promoted to Senior Vice President, State
Regulatory Affairs. Michael is responsible for state regulatory
activities across Comcast's footprint. He leads the team that
represents the company before state regulators, directs Comcast's
advocacy efforts with the national and regional organizations that
represent public utility commissions, and advises senior leaders on
state regulatory matters that could impact the company. Michael holds
a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Wayne State
University.

Klayton Fennell has been promoted to Senior Vice President,
Government Affairs. In this role, Klay provides government and
regulatory affairs support and guidance to Comcast's field government
affairs teams and to the company's headquarters business and
operations teams. In addition, Klay serves as Comcast's key contact
with LGBT advocacy organizations and serves on Comcast's Internal
Diversity Council. Klay has a B.A. in Political Science from
Jacksonville University and earned a J.D. from Florida State
University's College of Law.

Rick Smotkin has been promoted to Senior Vice President,
Government Affairs. In this role, Rick manages the company's advocacy
before state and local intergovernmental associations and oversees
Comcast's employee grassroots activities and campaigns. Rick earned a
M.A. in Political Management from George Washington University.
Sales and Marketing

Clem Cheng has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Human
Resources, Sales and Marketing. He is responsible for providing
strategic HR leadership for the large scale, multichannel sales
organization. Clem received a B.S. in Computer Science and Economics
from the College of William and Mark and also holds a M.B.A. from the
University of Delaware. He was also a participant of the NAMIC
Executive Leadership Development Program at Darden's Graduate School
of Business Administration.
Cable Legal

Kathryn Koles has been promoted to Senior Vice President and
Deputy General Counsel. In this role, Kathryn provides legal support
and guidance for Comcast's advertising and advanced advertising
initiatives, including the Engineering and Platform Services division
and Comcast Spotlight. Kathryn holds J. D. from Seton Hall University
School of Law, an M.A. in French Literature and Language from
Middlebury College and a B.A. in French Literature and Language from
Bucknell University.

David Marcus (News - Alert) has been promoted to Senior Vice President and
Deputy General Counsel. In this role, David is responsible for patent
matters involving Comcast Cable, including patent litigation and other
technology-related litigation. He earned a B.S. in Mathematics from
Moravian College and went on to get a J.D. from Temple University.
