Clarizen Integrates with Autodesk's AutoCAD
(Wireless News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
Clarizen, a provider of on-demand, online project management software,
announced its integration with Autodesk's AutoCAD software.
The partnership lets engineers and developers using AutoCAD software
work directly with Clarizen's SaaS project management solution to
update and manage their projects directly without leaving their AutoCAD
system, it was reported.
Clarizen said it will also exhibit and demonstrate its SaaS project
management solution at the Autodesk University 2008 trade show in Las
Vegas from December 2-5. Autodesk University brings together a
community of professionals including product users, instructors,
software developers and tools suppliers to participate in a time-tested
model of efficient learning and networking. Clarizen's session will
explore the benefits of integrating on-demand project management and
computer-aided design (CAD) to manage and track projects within the
AutoCAD software environment and enable real-time collaboration for
designers and suppliers that need to be in constant communication.
According to the company, the integration between the AutoCAD system
and Clarizen lets users update, change or create documents within the
CAD environment so that all project information is available via
AutoCAD's main menu. In addition, information is accessible to
managers, clients and other distributed teams via Clarizen's online
project management solution. Users benefit from increased productivity
and streamlined project execution that helps ensure that no items are
overlooked while managing multiple projects at the same time.
The integration responds to the market demand of being able to
seamlessly move between design and project management environments. The
SaaS platform lets CAD users in industries work in network-based,
multi-dimensional collaboration which is needed in today's project
management world. Industries include architecture, engineering,
construction, automotive, transportation, education, government,
manufacturing, media, entertainment, utilities and telecommunications.
This integration responds to the market demand of being able to
seamlessly move between design and project management environments, the
company said.
"Clarizen is able to provide a completely new and innovative solution
for engineering teams who use AutoCAD software by connecting their
existing on-premise enterprise desktop systems with the online world,"
said Clarizen CEO Avinoam Nowogrodski. "This integration ensures that
our customers can manage their projects seamlessly with absolutely no
disruption to their existing work processes."
