City asks why you love Sacramento
Feb 13, 2012 (The Sacramento Bee - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
The city wants to know what its residents like about Sacramento.
The best video responses as chosen by the city will be edited into a video to be shared with citizens.
The February promotion coincides with Valentine's Day and is designed to "inspire people to recognize what the Capital of California has going for it."
So what's your favorite thing about the city? Could it be the old chestnut "It's close to San Francisco and the Sierra." Or something food oriented: the hamburgers at Nationwide Freezer Meats or The Squeeze Inn?
Already, the city has compiled a video that features Mayor Kevin Johnson and the City Council. Here's what they love about Sacramento:
Johnson: "It's my hometown."
Kevin McCarty: Tree-lined neighborhoods.
Sandy Sheedy: Diversity.
Rob Fong: The Arts.
Jay Schenirer: Our young people.
Angelique Ashby: The possibilities.
Bonnie Pannell: The parks.
Darrell Fong: Coming home.
Steve Cohn: Midtown on Second Saturday.
The city asks citizens to create a video with a two or three word answer to the question "What do you love about Sacramento?." Then residents are asked post it to YouTube and send a link to CityExpress@CityofSacramento.org.
Answers selected by the city will be combined into a video.
