Citrix Demos Avistar C3 Media Engine and Citrix at iForum 2009

Jun 25, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Avistar Communications, a provider of unified visual communications solutions, announced that Citrix Systems demonstrated the Avistar C3 Media Engine in the Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop products during its Citrix iForum 2009 event in Edinburgh.



Avistar said its C3 Media Engine is the only visual communications application designed to work on the Citrix platform.

"Until now, there was a tremendous pent up demand but no visual communications solutions for the terminal and thin client market. Avistar solves an issue for Citrix users by providing a visual communications experience while leveraging all the benefits of the Citrix platform," said Chris Lauwers, CTO, Avistar. "This development is so important and there is so much interest for it among the Citrix users that Citrix itself demonstrated the solution at its iForum conference." Citrix is the latest product line to demonstrate Avistar C3 videoconferencing technology working within its applications, joining a list that includes IBM, Logitech and others, the company noted. Lifesize Communications launched its desktop video conferencing solution at InfoComm09, also built using the Avistar C3 Media Engine and technology.
