Christopher Burke Joins Cofiroute USA from SANDAG as Vice President of Business Development
IRVINE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--
Cofiroute USA, which first revolutionized the automation of toll roads
in the United States with the 91 Express Lanes in Orange (News - Alert) County,
California, announced today the appointment of Christopher Burke as vice
president of business development.
In his new position, Burke will be responsible for working with public
agencies, contractors and others throughout the U.S. in bidding on new
projects and developing plans for new toll roads or converting existing
high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes to high-occupancy toll (HOT) lanes.
"We've seen increased interest in both the planning and development of
new toll roads and HOT lanes through public-private partnerships," said
Gary Hausdorfer, president and CEO. "Chris will manage existing
relationships and pursue new ones as the toll road industry expands to
meet critical infrastructure needs throughout the country, which have
been hindered by state and federal budget constraints. His industry
expertise and experience with SANDAG will be invaluable in advancing our
growth plans."
Prior to Cofiroute USA, Burke served as an associate intelligent
transportation systems (ITS) business analyst for the San Diego
Associations of Governments (SANDAG) for six years, overseeing majr
transportation systems. His responsibilities included the implementation
of I-15 FasTrak managed lanes, a $24 million tolling system, and the
overall management of local, state and federal regulations for HOV, HOT
and toll lanes. Other notable projects Burke supervised included
regional tolling operations, 511 Regional Traveler Information System
and the launch of iCommute.
He holds a master's degree in public administration from San Diego State
University and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the
University of San Francisco. Before SANDAG Burke was a product manager
for Intuit (News - Alert) and JNI Corporation.
