Chinese vice premier, European Commission vice-president discuss IMF meetings

BEIJING, Apr 19, 2012 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan discussed the upcoming IMF and World Bank meetings by phone with European Commission (EC) Vice-President Olli Rehn on Thursday.

Rehn, also European economic and monetary affairs commissioner, briefed Wang on the EC's policy considerations on the spring meetings of the two international financial institutions, and the gatherings of the finance ministers and central bank governors of the Group of 20 nations.

Rehn also updated Wang on the EC's policy considerations concerning quota reforms and capital increase within the IMF.

Wang informed Rehn of China's positions on these topics.
