China's software industry sees 21.4 pct revenue growth in Jan-Nov, MIIT

China's software industry
generally maintained steady growth in production and sales in the
first 11 months of 2009, the Ministry of Industry and Information
Technology (MIIT) said.
In particular, the industry registered a 21.4 percent
revenue growth to 870.16 billion yuan in the 11 months, according to
MIIT data released Tuesday. The growth was 1.2 percentage points
higher than the January to October period, but still 9.4 percentage
points lower compared with the same period of 2008.
In November, the software industry generated 101 billion
yuan in revenue, up 31.3 percent from a year earlier. The growth was
11.8 percentage points faster than in October and 2.8 percentage
points faster compared with November 2008.
Sales of software products surged 22.4 percent to 303.58
billion yuan in the first 11 months, taking up 34.9 percent of the
industry's total revenue.
Revenue generated from software technology services
soared 30.3 percent to 184.98 billion yuan during the 11 months,
accounting for 21.3 percent of the industry's total. Specially,
software outsourcing service revenue jumped 44.9 percent to 26.3
billion yuan, while embedded software revenue increased 14.4 percent
to 155.89 billion yuan. System integration revenue rose 19.5 percent
to 205.49 billion yuan, and IC design revenue grew 8.6 percent to
20.22 billion yuan.
In the first 11 months, China's software exports surged
35.3 percent year on year to 15.5 billion US dollars, the growth rate
of which was 12.1 percentage points lower than the first half of
2009, and 15 percentage points lower than the same period in 2008.
The exports of software outsourcing services rose sharply by 42.5
percent to 2.04 billion dollars.
