China's cross-bank transfers resume after 5-day halt

BEIJING, Oct 08, 2013 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Commercial banks in China have begun to resume cross-bank fund transfers since Sunday after a five-day halt as the People's Bank of China (PBOC), or the central bank, decided to upgrade its computer network system during the National Day holidays starting from September 30.

PBOC announced Tuesday on its website that the system was working properly now. Fund transactions requested by organizations or individuals through banking outlets or the Internet and interbank transfers have started to be accepted and processed since Sunday.
