China to Release Part Contents of Mobile Storage Standard


(SinoCast Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)BEIJING, May 18, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --In order to break the monopolization of international standards for mobile storage in China's market, the country begin to research and develop its own for the sector. Now, the work has been fully activated and part contents of the standard are expected to be released in the latter half of this year.



On May 15, the head of China's Mobile Storage Standard Working Group (MSSW) Chen Fangqing revealed that the work had made certain progress and the work of the standard for U-disc even came to the final phase and was expected to be released in 3 months.

Meanwhile, the group also keeps communications with Taiwan's enterprises on cooperation. But, no achievement has been made yet. Chen explained that it was because the leagues of Taiwan's memory card enterprises will not be willing to lose any of its present profits.


But, the MU card league of Taiwan, consisting of 7 enterprises like BenQ, DBTEL, ITRI and Richip etc., intends to join the group of mainland all the time.
