China Q3 Mobile Value-added Market Hit CNY39.2bn
BEIJING, Nov 26, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) --
China achieved a mobile value-added market size of CNY 39.2 billion in the third quarter ended September 30, 2009, up 17.9% year on year and 0.7% quarter on quarter, according to a latest data report released by iResearch Consulting Group.
There are three reasons for the above increase. In detail, the nation's economy kept recovering from the lingering global financial crisis; telelcoms operators accelerated their 3G promotions; and Big Three Chinese telecoms operators launched a list of campus marketing programs.
In addition, its WAP market rose 3.6 percentage points to CNY 4.39 billion in the quarter, accounting for a 12.2% share of the whole mobile value-added market. In particular, revenue proportion of WAP lightly outpaced that of MMS compared with the figure in the first two quarters.
As for the reason of the WAP market growth, one is that telecoms operators reduced their service packages; the other is that traditional Internet companies bolstered up their mobile Internet services, along with mobile Internet service provider paid more efforts to mobile phone R&D and promotion.
