China Mobile Launched G3 Netbooks

Teaming up with overseas and domestic 17 PC makers, China Mobile Ltd. (SEHK: 0941 and NYSE: CHL) launched 29 models of G3 netbooks on April 15, 2009.
The telecom carrier will push the development of the TD-SCDMA industry by joining hands with PC manufacturers, noted Lu Xiangdong, vice president of China Mobile.
The 17 PC makers included Dell Inc. (Nasdaq: DELL), Lenovo Group Limited (SEHK: 0992), Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HPQ), Samsung, Founder Technology Group Corp. (SHSE: 600601), Tsinghua Tongfang Co., Ltd. (SHSE: 600100), Acer, Haier, MSI, Greatwall Computer, TCL, Konka, BenQ, Aigo, Fijitsu, Hasee, as well as Malata.
Of the first batch of netbooks customized for China Mobile, nearly 40% were equipment with ZTE Corporation (SZSE: 000063 and SEHK: 0763)'s MU301 embedded module, which got the first net access license for TD-SCDMA embedded module in early March, according to an executive for the Shenzhen-based networking and telecommunications equipment supplier.
