CGI creates 650 new Welsh jobs

(City A.M. (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SOME 650 IT jobs are being promised for south Wales after Canadian IT services firm CGI announced it is planning to expand its Bridgend offices.

The Welsh government are offering CGI a £3.2m grant to support the job-creation over five years.

CGI provides cloud computing, cyber security and other IT service functions and currently employs around 900 people in Wales. "As we continue to grow our business and our clients increasingly adopt newer technologies such as cloud it is more important than ever that we can offer them a highly-skilled workforce," said CGI UK president Tim Gregory.
