CertainTeed ColorView Home Exterior Visualization Tool Hits the Road

MALVERN, Pa., Feb. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Homeowners now have a next generation tool to help sort through a world of exterior design possibilities. CertainTeed, North America's leading brand of building products, has improved upon its industry-best array of home design visualization tools by expanding the product offerings showcased in the mobile version of the ColorView® Exterior Style and Color Selector. Created expressly for the iPad®, the ColorView Mobile app makes it easy to experiment with different exterior product style and color combinations almost anywhere.

ColorView Mobile allows iPad users to upload their own image of a home or choose from stock photos of homes built in a variety of architectural styles, and then mask over the walls and roof with virtual layers of CertainTeed vinyl and polymer siding and roofing shingles. Users can also choose from dozens of Sherwin-Williams paint colors to apply to the front door, garage door, trim areas and shutters. Once the design is complete, ColorView Mobile can save and share custom renderings for future reference.

CertainTeed developed ColorView Mobile to accommodate today's on-the-go lifestyles. "The popularity of smart device apps was a chief factor in our decision to to add siding products and paint colors to the mobile version of ColorView," notes Matt Gibson, marketing director for CertainTeed Siding. "We've had the desktop version of ColorView for a few years now, but since tablets are the preferred device for many people, we wanted to provide a strong visualization tool that could be used at their convenience. The ability to do side-by-side comparisons of different options, as well as see various color and style combinations realistically applied to nearly every element of the user's own dwelling, is invaluablein helping to achieve a well-coordinated design before the actual remodeling work begins."

"People want their homes to look beautiful in a way that reflects their own aesthetic preferences," says Bob Gardiner, vice president of marketing for CertainTeed Roofing. "We're very proud of our incredible variety of product and design options, but we're also keenly aware that it can be overwhelming to select complementary colors, materials and styles from such a large range of possibilities. User-friendly visualization tools like ColorView Mobile guide homeowners as they zero in on the most eye-catching combinations for each unique project."

In addition to ColorView, ColorCoach™ and CurbAppeal™ are two other design tools that can be utilized to explore and evaluate different customized exteriors. For more information about these programs, visit certainteed.com/colortools.
