Celerity Engagement Directors Earn Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification

Two Celerity Engagement Directors, Todd Miller and Mike Huber, recently received their Scaled Agile (News - Alert) Framework (SAFe) Certifications-a significant milestone in further establishing Celerity as a market leader in Agile development methodologies.

Although thousands of organizations use Agile Methodologies, many struggle to scale Agile to the Portfolio and Program levels. SAFe is a public-facing, industry-proven knowledge base that builds on proven Scrum, Lean, and XP practices to scale software development to the enterprise level.

This accreditation allows Huber and Miller, through Celerity, to provide succinct coaching and consultation to large development organizations on how to successfully scale their programs, whether they have 10 or 10,000 developers. They can also train and certify Agile Leaders and Practitioners in the SAFe model.

Mike Hber has over 25 years of experience in Lean and Agile development, and is currently serving as Celerity's SAFe practitioner and Agile coach for a Top 10 National Bank in Richmond, VA. "My introduction to Lean was Just in Time manufacturing using Kanban pull methods," he says. "I have, from that point, been an enthusiast of Agile and Lean development."

Todd Miller was named on Central Penn Business Journal's list of "40 Under 40" business professionals this year for his success as a passionate Agile thought leader. He has helped Celerity's clients bridge the gap between Business and IT teams on a variety of technical and creative projects, including websites, mobile app development projects, and complex engineering sales. Miller currently directs the Agile Development Center, which supports Celerity's large-scale application development projects throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

The certification course is an intensive four-day training on SAFe concepts and prescribed methodology. Prerequisites include 5+ years of software development and program/product management experience, and 3+ years working in an Agile environment. Candidates must also have earned relevant Agile certifications, including CSM, CSPO, and PMI-ACP.

Both Miller and Huber have mentored and coached entire enterprises, from executive management to development teams, on Agile principles. "To be truly successful, an organization must foster a collaborative culture in which everyone is working toward the same goals," Huber says. "The fog is lifting and the horizon is brightening for the future of software development in large Agile organizations."
