Celebrated astronaut to speak at mGuard User Conference

Astronaut Story Musgrave will give a keynote speech at the mGuard User Conference, a two-day event sponsored by Phoenix Contact (News - Alert) and Innominate, that focuses on best practices for improving industrial cybersecurity. Musgrave will speak at an "Astronaut Dinner" at the Houston Space Center, beginning at 5:30 on Wednesday, June 3.

He performed the first shuttle spacewalk on Challenger's first flight, was a pilot on an astronomy mission, conducted two classified DOD missions, was the lead spacewalker on the Hubble Telescope repair mission, and on his last flight, he operated an electronic chip manufacturing satellite on Columbia.

Musrave has seven graduate degrees in math, computer, chemistry, medicine, physiology, literature, and psychology. He has been awarded 20 honorary doctorates. He was a part-time trauma surgeon during his 30-year astronaut career.

Musgrave will speak during the "Astronaut Dinner" portion of the mGuard User Conference, where participants will have a chance to explore the Houston Space Center and view special exhibits from real NASA missions.

The mGuard User Conference, June 3-4 at the Marriott West Loop by the Galleria in Houston, will feature discussions with leading experts on current and future trends in industrial cybersecurity. Attendees will see a live hacking demonstration and hear from experts about trends in cybersecurity and remote connectivity. The conference will include real-world examples of cybersecurity success stories.
