CBTS Compliant with SSAE-16 and HIPAA Standards

CBTS, a leading technology solutions provider, recently underwent audits to certify that its Infrastructure as a Service and its Dedicated Backup offerings are compliant with SSAE-16/SOC requirements and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).

In May, CBTS underwent an objective evaluation of the design and operating effectiveness of controls that address operations and compliance, as well as controls that are relevant to its customers' financial reporting. The independent auditing firm IS Partners LLC of Horsham, Pa., performed the reviews. IS Partners' professional staff has collectively completed over 800 SAS (News - Alert) 70, SSAE 16 and SOC audits, internal control readiness assessments, trust service audits, HIPAA assessments, and information technology audits.

"CBTS has always been committed to the security, availability and confidentiality of our customers' data, applications and other infrastructure," said Ryan Mast, vice president of managed services for CBTS. "The successful completion of these audits and assessments confirmed what we already knew, and will give our customers extra assurance when they do business with us."

CBTS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cincinnati Bell (News - Alert) and serves information-sensitive industries, including financial firms, health care providers and hospitals that require SOC1, SOC2 and HIPAA compliance.

"This is truly an in-depth assessment of CBTS Managed Services," said Mast. "These audits provide an additional layer of confidence for our existing customers, and provide a written assertion fro management regarding the design and operating effectiveness of the controls being reviewed."
