CBP Officers Seize $288,000 of Marijuana at Naco Port

Naco, Ariz. ' U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped a drug-smuggling attempt when they seized more than 180 pounds of marijuana concealed in multiple secret compartments through out the vehicle.
On October 25 at about 9:30 p.m., CBP officers were screening travelers when they became suspicious of a 2005 Ford F-150 driven by a 22-year-old woman who was identified as a U.S. citizen and resident of Naco, Ariz. The woman's vehicle was searched by a CBP K-9 Team and discovered that the Ford F-150 had secret compartments constructed in the back-seat, fender wells, and bed walls.
More than 180 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $288,000 was removed from these secret compartments.
CBP officers seized the vehicle and the marijuana. The woman was turned over to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation.
