CareSource settles into new downtown office space [Dayton Daily News, Ohio]

(Dayton Daily News (OH) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sept. 29--Over the past two weeks, CareSource has moved 175 workers from its downtown headquarters to newly renovated office spaces at 220 East Monument Ave. in the former WorkFlowOne building.

The downtown Dayton-based Medicaid manage care provider is expanding downtown to accommodate new business from the expansion of Medicaid in Ohio and the addition of its CareSource Just4Me commercial health plans sold on the federal health insurance marketplace.

As first reported in the Dayton Daily News, CareSource could house as many as 400 workers in 125,000 square feet of office space on the first four floors of the building that it leased in April for an undisclosed amount.

The building -- which was updated by BHDP Architecture with new carpet, paint, lighting and a remodeled lobby area -- will free up space at CareSource's headquarters at 230 North Main St. for further expansion, said President and CEO Pam Morris.

Morris said the new office space will allow for "re-stacking" at the headquarters building, which houses just over 1,000 employees, so that "teams can stay together on one floor." The company's headquarters includes its information technology, marketing, human resources, training and clinical divisions. The new offices will house claims and operational staff.

CareSource also operates a call center at 40 West Second St., where it has just over 200 employees.

CareSource has about 1,550 employees in downtown Dayton, and plans to grow its company-wide payroll close to 2,000 by the end of the year.

The company has hired 159 workers in new positions so far this year, not including back-filled vacancies. And Morris anticipates the company's payroll will continue to grow next year as it moves into new markets in Indiana and Kentucky with its CareSource Just4Me product.

"When we go to a new state like Indiana and Kentucky...all core operations will be done here," Morris said. "So when we grow, even if it's in another state, Dayton benefits from that growth because we will hire additional staff here." ___ (c)2014 the Dayton Daily News (Dayton, Ohio) Visit the Dayton Daily News (Dayton, Ohio) at www.daytondailynews.com Distributed by MCT Information Services
