PHILADELPHIA _ General Electric Co. has reached an agreement to buy the 20 per cent stake in NBC Universal held by French media conglomerate Vivendi SA, The Associated Press has learned.An understanding between GE and Vivendi has been reached but has yet to be formalized, according to a person with knowledge of the talks who requested anonymity because the negotiations were private. 390 words. MONTREAL _ The CRTC is asking Canadians to comment online about the future of television. The federal regulator is looking at various options to determine the value of TV signals, a bone of contention between conventional television broadcasters and the cable and satellite companies that distribute their signals.
