CalAmp to supply M2M Wireless communications solution to CaterpillarFeb 06, 2013 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- CalAmp Corp (Nasdaq:CAMP), a provider of wireless products, services and solutions, announced on Tuesday the signing of a development agreement with heavy equipment manufacturer Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:CAT) to provide it with ruggedised wireless routers that will enable vital data communications for equipment deployed around the globe. Under the agreement, financial details of which were not available, CalAmp is providing a customised version of its Vanguard mobile wireless broadband router for multi-carrier operation on both CDMA and GSM networks around the world. Also, the company is providing Caterpillar with a satellite communication version of Vanguard for connecting with Caterpillar equipment deployed in remote locations without cellular coverage.
