C7 Data Centers Adds Comcast Business Ethernet to Expand Network Connectivity Options at New Salt Lake City Facility

SALT LAKE CITY --(Business Wire)--

Comcast Business today announced that C7 Data Centers, a leading provider of advanced IT, cloud and data center colocation services, is offering Comcast (News - Alert) Business Ethernet Services as a connectivity option to customers at C7's new Granite Point II colocation data center in Bluffdale, Utah. The new facility is one of four C7 data centers in the metro Salt Lake City area that are connected to Comcast's network and combined offer 140,000 square feet of data center and colocation space.

Granite Point II is C7's most advanced Tier III data center to date and is one of the most efficient data centers in the country with a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) rating of 1.2. The 95,000-sq.-ft. facility addresses customer business requirements by providing a geographic location with low risk of natural disasters and a facility with high-bandwidth connectivity options, state-of-the-art power and cooling systems, and ease of scalability. This combination makes Granite Point II and C7's other Salt Lake City data centers a very cost-effective alternative for customers compared to the Las Vegas, Phoenix and Denver data center markets.

C7 Data Centers serves local, national and international clients, representing virtually every industry and ranging from Fortune 100 corporations to webscale start-ups, with managed IT, cloud, disaster recovery, remote storage and colocation services. Based on previous experience working with Comcast Business at the company's other data centers, C7 worked with the company to extend its fiber network directly into their new facility, giving customers direct access to Comcast's network and suite of reliable, secure and high-performance Ethernet services.

"Our Granite Point II facility truly is the result of our commitment to being aware of our customers' needs and providing the data center services they need to meet their business goals," said Wes Swenson, CEO of C7 Data Centers. "Customer experience is very important to how we run our business and partnering with Cmcast Business gives our customers a huge access network footprint and wide Ethernet service availability with rapid installation for connecting to their IT services at our facilities."

For data center connectivity, Comcast Business offers a comprehensive portfolio of Ethernet options, including Ethernet Dedicated Internet, Ethernet Private Line, Ethernet Virtual Private Line and Ethernet Network Services that provide Internet access, point-to-point, and point-to-multipoint connectivity at bandwidth that scales up to 10 Gbps.

"Extending our fiber network to C7's new Granite Point II and its other data centers allows us to offer C7's customers additional flexibility as they make IT decisions that affect the very core of their business operations," said Paul Merritt, director for Comcast Business. "By adding another data center to our network, it also gives our Ethernet customers in Utah and around the U.S. another option for cloud and hosting services and remote back-up."
