Buy a Coffee on May 31 and Brighten a Kid's Future

Tim Hortons® restaurants in the U.S. continue to brew coffee for a great cause, announcing its 2017 Camp Day on May 31. On Camp Day, 100 percent of proceeds from hot and iced coffee sales at participating restaurants will be donated to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation (THCF). The funds raised on Camp Day provide thousands of kids from low-income families across North America with a camp experience that helps youth aged 9 to 18 participate in programs and activities deliberately designed to build self-confidence, self-esteem and leadership skills.

On May 31, Guests can wear their support proudly and purchase a Camp Day bracelet at participating Tim Hortons restaurants for just $2 plus tax, while supplies last. Guests are invited to wear the bracelets, available in four different colors, and to post a selfie to their social media channels using the hashtag #CampDay to help spread awareness.

Tim Hortons Camp Day started 26 years ago, and since the fundraiser went chain-wide in 1991, more than $162 million has been raised in Canada and the United States providing more than 237,000 kids from low-income families with an opportunity to build brighter futures for themselves and have a positive impact in their communities. In 2016 alone, Camp Day raised more than $13.1 million in Canada and the U.S. and helped send more than 20,000 kids on a transformative camp experience.

"Thanks to the generosity of Tim Hortons Guests, dedicated Restaurant Owners, Managers and Team Members, Camp Day is our single biggest fundraiser of the year," says Dave Newnham, President and Executive Director, Tim Horton Children's Foundation. "The funds raised help us provide transformative camp experiences that are deliberately designed to develop critical skills and strengths in the youth we serve to make a lasting positive impact in their lives."

THCF camps operate year-round, and are focused on delivering signature programs designed based on decades of experience and current best practices in youth development. THCF leverages the transformational power of camp to help youth from low income families overcome the obstacles they face. These camp experiences provide opportunities for youth to grow and succeed on their own terms and make a positive impact in their communities. THCF camp experiences are provided at no cost to the campers or their families.

The Tim Horton Children's Foundation was established in 1974 by Ron Joyce, co-founder of Tim Hortons, in honor of Tim Horton's love for children and his desire to help those less fortunate. Tim Horton himself came from a low-income home in Cochrane, Ontario. The Foundation operates seven inspiring camps across the US and Canada: Campbellsville, Kentucky, St. George, Ontario; Parry Sound, Ontario; Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia; Kananaskis, Alberta; Pinawa, Manitoba; and Quyon, Quebec. Funds raised help sponsor kids from local Tim Hortons communities. Campers are selected with the assistance of social service agencies and schools, based on need.

Guests can also make a one-time or recurring donation online at www.timscampday.com.
