Bustamante, Las Vegas Latin Chamber Chairman Candidate Honored in D.C.
LAS VEGAS --(Business Wire)-- The Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) -- a coalition of the nation's most influential community-based organizations -- recently honored 28 young professional executives at its inaugural Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers(TM) (YHCA) program in Washington, D.C. Sponsors of the program were Comcast Communications, the Ford Motor Company and Phillip Morris USA.
Las Vegas' very own, Irene Bustamante Adams, was honored for her accomplished position with MGM MIRAGE. The awardees took part in a one-day leadership development and networking program and were formally recognized as role models for other young, corporate professionals by their respective companies.
Adding to her credentials, Mrs. Bustamante Adams was recently promoted to Director of Construction Diversity for MGM MIRAGE's new CityCenter, one of Las Vegas' most ambitious architectural projects. Not only a corporate leader, Irene is a student (working on her MBA), mother of two and a wife to a husband currently fighting in Iraq.
Irene's true passion is to help her community with a heart for Las Vegas' youth. "I have the honor to sit on the Boards of Directors for several organizations including the International Innovation Charter School, the Academy of Hospitality & Tourism Advisory Board and the Latin Chamber of Commerce where I currently serve as Vice Chair. This year, I made the commitment to run for Chairman of the Latin Chamber as this organization holds a special place in my heart. It is truly the place where local business leaders can grow and prosper. Personally, I want to help create business opportunities for our community and help young members in the Chamber become part of the future leadership in the City of Las Vegas. I believe in giving back to the community and I consider it a blessing to have this opportunity to create a meaningful contribution to this great City and to my heritage. In fostering diversity in Las Vegas, it truly makes it an exciting and unique place for all of us to work and live," Irene Bustamante Adams said.
