Holmes Mason is fluent in Spanish as well as in English. Her field includes all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology, with special interests in helping women handle issues involving breastfeeding and depression. She is a graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and did her residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.



Wooster Community Hospital CEO Bill Sheron introduced Holmes Mason to members of the hospital's Board of Governors Wednesday. She said she has received a warm welcome, and the transition here has been smooth.

Redman elected director of national board WOOSTER -- Dr. Roger Redman, veterinarian and president of Ark Veterinary Hospital, was elected director of the American Association of Veterinary State Boards at the association's National Conference in Saint Petersburg, Fla., Sept 12-13.

The AAVSB is the national association of licensing boards of veterinary medicine, which regulate and credential all licensed veterinarians and veterinary technicians. He was elected by the delegates from the 59 jurisdictions it serves, including the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and six Canadian Provinces.

Redman also will serve as the Board of Directors appointee to oversee the Veterinary Technician National Exam. In addition to the AAVSB, Redman also serves as Gov. John Kasich's appointee to the Ohio Veterinary Medical Licensing Board in Columbus.

Attorneys chosen to lead OSBA committees Two local attorneys have been selected to be chairmen of Ohio State Bar Association committees and sections for 2014-2015.

Susan E. Baker has been re-appointed to chair the Workers' Compensation Law Committee. Certified as a specialist in workers' compensation law by the OSBA, she works in the Medina office of Critchfield, Critchfield & Johnston, Ltd. and is a fellow of the National College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers.

Baker earned her undergraduate degree from Ashland University in 1988 and her law degree from Case Western Reserve University Law School in 1992.

In the community, she currently serves on Summa Health Systems Care Delivery Board and is a past chair and current member of the Wayne County Economic Development Council. Baker is married and has two grown children.

David J. Wigham has been re-appointed to chair the Natural Resources Law Committee. A member of the Wooster law firm of Critchfield, Critchfield & Johnston, Ltd. since 1992, he has concentrated his practice in the area of oil and gas law for more than 20 years and chairs the firm's oil and gas department.

He earned a BA in economics from the College of Wooster and his law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where he served as editor of the Cleveland State Law Review. He is a member of the OSBA, the Wayne County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

In the community, Wigham has served on the boards of Junior Achievement of Wayne County and the Secrest Arboretum, as well as on several private corporate boards. He is also a former solicitor for the Village of Apple Creek and has coached youth basketball and baseball. He and his wife, Becky, have two children: Andrew and Allison.

Snyder named Student Representative to NEOMED Board of Trustees Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) announces the appointment of Douglas Snyder as the new student member to its Board of Trustees.

Snyder was appointed to a two-year term by Gov. John Kasich on Aug. 25. He will replace former student trustee, L. Austin Fredrickson Jr., M.D., whose term recently expired.

A third-year College of Medicine student who is also pursuing a bioethics certificate, Snyder is a graduate of Orrville High School and Kent State University where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in integrated life sciences as part of the accelerated Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Medicine degree (B.S/ M.D.) program.

An active member of campus, Snyder serves as a member of the NEOMED Student Council, American Medical Association, and is a member of the Class of 2016 Oath Committee. He has also served as a student representative to the NEOMED University Council, and as the finance chair of Outreach Free Clinic.

Snyder is the son of Steven and Dena Snyder of Orrville. He is currently a resident of Ravenna.

Evans earns certification WOOSTER -- Kate Evans of Bespoke Hair Salon in Wooster has recently returned from Nick Arrojo Academy in Soho, New York. She spent three days at the academy earning her certification in the art of American Wave. This includes the New Beach Wave, Expansion Wave and Style Support Wave.
