Building Zones and Pivot3 Complete Desktop Modernization for SMBs
Feb 15, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) --
Building Zones, a workspace technology specialist company, has announced the completion of the test period and successful deployment for the TSK Group of the Pivot3 vSTAC VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure).
In a release, the Company said that Pivot3 vSTAC VDI appliances deliver high-performance, unified compute and storage capabilities that are purpose-built for the small-to-mid-size organization looking for a simple, scalable and affordable VMware-based virtual desktop infrastructure.
Energy Points said that this first successful deployment is part of a larger workspace change program at TSK, to create a dynamic and flexible work environment where any device can be used wirelessly to access core systems. Commenting on this first Pivot3 deployment, Jason Green, managing director of Building Zones said, "Until now, VDI has been an enterprise IT issue as it was just too costly, too complex and too slow for most businesses to pursue. Given that Pivot3 consolidates server and storage resources into a single hardware platform, it becomes much easier to deploy and significantly cheaper to maintain. For TSK, this improves their IT flexibility and is a key part of their BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) strategy to exploit the opportunities in mobile computing."
Mark Eades, IT manager at TSK said "We are very impressed with how well the Pivot3 vSTAC VDI installation went, making our VMware View 5.0 deployment both simple and affordable. It eliminated the complexities and skill levels normally imposed."
"We believe that there is significant pent up demand for a 100 to 1000 desktop VMware VDI solution that is easily consumable and scalable," said Olivier Thierry, chief marketing officer at Pivot3. "The Building Zones 'work different' program is an ideal desktop modernization delivery platform that customers like TSK will benefit from immensely."
