BRIEF: Woman Robs Bank in Kalamazoo Township

Feb 14, 2012 (WXMI-TV - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- KALAMAZOO TWP, Mich. -- A woman carrying a handgun robbed the PNC Bank branch at 1642 Gull Road in Kalamazoo Township Tuesday morning.

At about 10:45 a.m. employees at the bank called police to say that they had just been robbed. They described the suspect as an African American woman in her 20's, 5'6"-5'9" tall, about 120 pounds, with a thin build. She was wearing a short, black puffy coat, turquoise pants and a black ski mask.


Police say the woman demanded and got some cash from two bank tellers, then left the bank, getting into the passenger side of a black 1997 Dodge Neon with Michigan plate 1KFR83. That getaway car was waiting outside in the parking lot, and left heading south on Bixby. Police say that car was stolen.

Kalamazoo Township Police are asking anyone who sees that car or has any relevant information to call police right away, via 911, or by calling them at 269-343-2100.
