BRIEF: Wireless devices should work better at Miller Park
Apr 06, 2012 (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
If you are an AT&T wireless customer, you know the frustration of trying to use your mobile device at Miller Park.
That's about to change beginning Friday for the season opener. The company said it is expanding its mobile Internet coverage at Miller Park and the nearby region by installing what is known as a Distributed Antenna System, or DAS.
The addition of several strategically placed antennas that distribute AT&T's wireless network coverage means improved call reliability and more consistent network access.
"We want our customers to have a great network experience whatever they're doing -- whether that's making a call, checking e-mail, downloading apps or surfing the Internet," said Dave Fine, AT&T's vice president and general manager for Wisconsin and Illinois. "We're committed to our investment in the local wireless network, and providing enhanced wireless coverage at one of Milwaukee's most popular landmarks is just one way that we're investing in Wisconsin."
The change should allow fans to follow baseball beat writer Tom Haudricourt on Twitter at @Haudricourt . You can also follow the game at our Brewers blog.
