BRIEF: Watch WFAA's Paige McCoy Smith get freaked out by ... a cable
Feb 14, 2012 (Fort Worth Star-Telegram - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Just catching up with this, courtesy of Ed Bark's Uncle Barky's Bytes blog: WFAA/Channeol 8 Good Morning Texas contributor Paige McCoy Smith gets freaked out by ... a cable.
Of course, she thought it was a snake. After all, it looks like this is a segment on reptiles, and here comes some crew member placing some snakelike object on her shoulder. To be honest, I'd probably scream, too. Ed (who notes that at first, he also thought it was a snake) calls it an "ultra-hysterical" reaction, but what's hysterical is how many times her reaction is edited into this 25-second clip:
Ed says the cable-snake incident might compare with an infamous incident in which then-NBC5 anchor Michael Scott has an encounter with an iguana.
To me, the cable-snake reaction doesn't even come close to Scott's reaction. But Ed's taking comments on his blog if you want to cast your vote on which is more extreme.
