BRIEF: Russia launches Dutch satellite: third attempt
MOSCOW, Feb 14, 2012 (dpa - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Russia successfully launched a Dutch communications satellite, its third attempt on the project, the Russian space control center said early Wednesday.
The Proton-M rocket successfully launched from the Baikonour Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, according to the news agency Interfax.
The launch had originally been planned for December 26, but was postponed twice due to technical problems.
The NSS-14 satellite is intended to improve communications capabilities over the next 15 years in Eastern Europe, North Africa and North and South America.
