BRIEF: Power problems close restaurant, team store at Miller Park

Jun 21, 2009 (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Miller Park was still not up to full power Saturday afternoon, following storm damage Friday that caused flooding in the service level.

The stadium was operating on backup power, with venues from Friday's Front Row Sports Grill to the team store still closed Saturday, Milwaukee Brewers spokesman Tyler Barnes said.

"Some of the power supply is wet, became wet when the water came in, so you can't fire it up until it completely dries out," he said Saturday. "We're thinking tomorrow we should be in good shape." The Brewers aren't scheduled to play another game at the park until Tuesday, at which time Barnes was optimistic the stadium will be ready. Fans cannot buy tickets over the phone or in-person because of the power outage, but they may continue to buy tickets online.



Barnes said Miller Park has had to hire a team of contractors to clean up the damage caused by waist-high water in some places on the service level.

"There's a lot to get done," Barnes said. "But nothing that should affect the fan experience at all."
