BRIEF: Police: Man robbed at gunpoint outside uptown restaurant


Dec 17, 2012 (The Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A man was robbed of several hundred dollars shortly after leaving Southern Boyz restaurant Saturday, according to Shelby Police.

The man said he had just left the restaurant about 3:30 a.m. when a man walked up to him, pointed a gun and told him to give him all his money, according to the report.

"...He gave him the money and began to run away," the report stated. "He advised that when he got to 919 S. Lafayette Street (Gasland), he asked the clerk if he could use the phone." The victim had no injuries but appeared fatigued from running a long distance, according to police.



The man said he gave the robber $350 in cash, the report stated.

Police do not have a suspect listed in the report.
