BRIEF: Police Looking for Suspect in Credit Union Robbery

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A Grand Rapids credit union was robbed Monday evening, and investigators are still looking for the suspect.
The robbery happened around 5:00 p.m. at the My Personal Credit Union, at 1327 Plainfield Avenue NE. Witnesses told police that a lone male suspect came in wearing a black jacket, black hoodie and blue jeans, and demanded cash after implying he had a weapon.
After getting an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled north on Plainfield Avenue.
A heavy police presence was set up in the area following the robbery. Police tracked the suspect but suspended efforts after they came up empty handed.
Witnesses described the suspect as a male, 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 10 inches tall, 190 pounds. The suspect was wearing a mask at the time of the robbery.
Grand Rapids Police Department is currently investigating the robbery with assistance of the FBI. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call police at 1-616-456-3604 or Silent Observer at 1-616-774-2345.
