Detectives met with a confidential informant Monday morning who said Vincent Jones Jr., 30, 94 Old River Road, wanted to meet him downtown to sell him crack.

After establishing police surveillance in the area, the informant got into a cab at the intersection of Penn Avenue and Lackawanna Avenue where he handed Jones "buy money" issued to the informant by police, detectives said.

Detectives pulled over the cab on the 200 block of Wyoming Avenue and arrested Jones, who was transported to the district attorney's office where police found 30 grams of crack hidden in Jones' buttocks during a search, police said.

Jones was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal attempt to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jones was arraigned Monday and is slated for a preliminary hearing Jan. 24, according to court documents. He was in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.
